- 4 slices of bacon
- 4 pork sausages
- 1/2 can of baked beans
- 2 tomatoes
- 4 eggs
- 4 slices of bread
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Place the bacon and sausages on a baking tray and cook in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- In a small saucepan, heat the baked beans over low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Cut the tomatoes in half and place them cut-side up on a baking tray. Drizzle with a little olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
- In a large frying pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook to your liking (fried, scrambled, or poached). Season with salt and pepper.
- While the eggs are cooking, toast the bread slices and spread with the remaining butter.
- Once everything is cooked, divide the bacon, sausages, beans, tomatoes, eggs, and toast between two plates. Serve hot and enjoy!
The Full English Breakfast, also known as a "fry-up," is a traditional British breakfast that dates back to the 13th century. It typically includes bacon, eggs, sausages, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, and toast. The dish gained popularity during the Victorian era and has since become a staple of British cuisine. Chefs like Fergus Henderson and Gordon Ramsay have put their own spin on the classic dish, incorporating high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. While the best version of this dish can be found in local cafes and bed and breakfasts across the UK, some renowned restaurants in London, such as The Wolseley, are known for serving exceptional Full English Breakfasts. The key to a perfect Full English Breakfast lies in the quality of the ingredients and the careful preparation of each component. For a vegetarian alternative, some establishments offer a "Full English" with meat-free sausages and vegetarian black pudding. Whether enjoyed at a cozy countryside inn or a bustling urban eatery, the Full English Breakfast remains a beloved and iconic meal in British culinary tradition.
