  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups of marinara sauce
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the Italian seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Place the browned chicken breasts on top of the sauce.
  • Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken breasts, then sprinkle with the shredded mozzarella cheese and the remaining 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving. Enjoy!
