Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 tomato slices
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup pickles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness.
- In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in the third.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the breaded chicken breasts on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- While the chicken is baking, toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on a skillet until lightly browned.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, then top with a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, a crispy chicken breast, a slice of cheddar cheese, and pickles.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
