Crispy Baked Tofu with teriyaki glaze has its roots in Japanese cuisine, where tofu is a staple ingredient. The dish gained popularity in the West as a healthier alternative to fried tofu. Chefs began experimenting with different glazes and seasonings to add flavor and texture to the tofu. The teriyaki glaze, with its sweet and savory notes, became a favorite choice for adding a delicious umami kick to the dish. Today, this dish can be found in many Asian fusion restaurants, particularly in regions with a strong Japanese culinary influence, such as California and Hawaii. The key to achieving the perfect Crispy Baked Tofu with teriyaki glaze lies in achieving the ideal balance of crispy texture and the rich, flavorful teriyaki glaze. It's important to press the tofu to remove excess moisture before baking and to ensure the glaze is well-balanced in sweetness and saltiness. For a twist, some chefs also incorporate sesame seeds or green onions for added depth of flavor. If you're looking to try the best version of this dish, consider visiting renowned Japanese restaurants or Asian fusion eateries known for their expertise in tofu dishes.
