Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle over the macaroni mixture.
