Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.
- Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for 5 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the creamy garlic parmesan sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat the chicken through.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve hot. Enjoy!
Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken with Mushrooms is a classic Italian-inspired dish that has gained popularity for its rich and savory flavors. This dish is believed to have originated in the northern regions of Italy, where chefs combined the bold flavors of garlic, parmesan, and mushrooms with tender chicken to create a comforting and indulgent meal. The dish has since become a staple in Italian-American cuisine, with many restaurants and home cooks putting their own spin on the recipe. The key to a perfect Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken with Mushrooms lies in the balance of flavors and the quality of ingredients. The creamy sauce should be velvety and rich, while the chicken should be tender and juicy. One famous alternative method for making this dish is to use a cast-iron skillet to sear the chicken and mushrooms before baking them in the creamy garlic parmesan sauce. This method adds a delicious depth of flavor and a crispy texture to the dish. Today, some of the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Italian restaurants, where skilled chefs use traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients to create a truly unforgettable dining experience. When making this dish at home, it's important to use fresh garlic, real parmesan cheese, and a good quality chicken to achieve the best results.
