Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup of buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon (for coating)
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of buttermilk, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when lightly touched. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon for the coating.
- Once the donuts are cool enough to handle, dip each donut in the melted butter, then coat with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve and enjoy!
