Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of milk, 1 cinnamon stick, 4 whole cloves, 4 lightly crushed cardamom pods, 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
  • Bring the milk and spices to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let it steep for 5 minutes.
  • Add 2 black tea bags to the saucepan and let them steep for an additional 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your chai.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and discard the tea bags and whole spices.
  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar, or adjust to taste.
  • Pour the chai latte into mugs and serve hot. Enjoy!
