Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 ciabatta bread loaf
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 3 cloves of minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh basil, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper until well combined.
  • Using a serrated knife, make diagonal cuts about 1 inch apart across the top of the ciabatta bread loaf, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom.
  • Spread the garlic and herb butter mixture generously between the cuts on the top of the ciabatta bread loaf, allowing the butter to seep into the bread.
  • Wrap the buttered ciabatta bread loaf in aluminum foil, leaving the top slightly open to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake the ciabatta bread in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then open the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy on the outside.
  • Remove the ciabatta bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy the delicious garlic and herb butter ciabatta bread!
Bread
Italian

Ciabatta bread, originating from Italy, is a rustic, chewy bread with a crisp crust. The addition of garlic and herb butter elevates its flavor profile, making it a popular choice for bread lovers. This delectable combination has a rich history, with skilled chefs and bakers perfecting the art of crafting the perfect ciabatta and infusing it with the aromatic blend of garlic and herbs. The best version of this dish can be found in traditional Italian bakeries, where the bread is baked to perfection and the butter is infused with the finest herbs. The key to this dish lies in the quality of the bread and the richness of the garlic and herb butter. For a twist, some chefs also recommend grilling the ciabatta and then spreading the butter for a delightful smoky flavor.
