  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1/2 cup chicken broth, and 1/4 cup water. Set aside.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add 6 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
  • Add 3 cups of broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the chicken and broccoli are coated.
