Chicken tenders, also known as chicken fingers or chicken strips, have a history rooted in Southern American cuisine. These succulent, breaded pieces of chicken first gained popularity in the 1980s and have since become a staple in restaurants and homes across the country. Chefs in the Southern United States are known for their expertise in creating the perfect crispy, juicy chicken tenders. The key to a delicious chicken tender lies in the seasoning of the breading and the quality of the chicken. Today, some of the best chicken tenders can be found in Southern diners and barbecue joints, where they are often served with a side of tangy honey mustard or creamy ranch dressing. For a unique twist, some chefs use buttermilk or pickle juice in the marinade to add extra flavor. Whether fried to golden perfection or baked for a healthier option, chicken tenders continue to be a beloved comfort food enjoyed by people of all ages.
