Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti, also known as Chicken Parmigiana, has a rich history rooted in Italian-American cuisine. This beloved dish features breaded and fried chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, served alongside al dente spaghetti. Its origins can be traced back to Italian immigrants in the United States, particularly in the Italian-American communities of New York and New Jersey. The dish gained popularity in the 1950s and has since become a staple in Italian-American restaurants across the country. Notable chefs and restaurants, such as Carbone in New York City, have put their own spin on this classic, elevating it to a gourmet level. For the best version of this dish, it's crucial to nail the crispy breading on the chicken, the flavorful marinara sauce, and the gooey, perfectly melted mozzarella. While the traditional recipe calls for chicken, some variations use eggplant or veal as a delicious alternative. Whether enjoyed at a cozy neighborhood trattoria or a fine dining establishment, Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti continues to be a timeless favorite for Italian food enthusiasts.
