Italian

Chicken Parmesan, also known as Chicken Parmigiana, is a classic Italian-American dish that has become a staple in many restaurants and home kitchens. The dish consists of breaded and fried chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, then typically served over a bed of pasta. Its origins can be traced back to Italian immigrants in the United States, particularly in the New York and New Jersey regions. The dish has since become popular across the country and is often associated with traditional Italian-American cuisine. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Italian restaurants that prioritize using high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods. The key to a delicious chicken parmesan lies in the crispy, golden-brown breading of the chicken, the rich and flavorful marinara sauce, and the gooey, melted mozzarella cheese. Some chefs also add a sprinkle of Parmesan or Pecorino Romano cheese for an extra savory kick. While the traditional method involves frying the chicken cutlets, some variations opt for baking the chicken for a lighter, healthier twist on the classic recipe. Whether enjoyed in a cozy Italian trattoria or prepared at home with a personal touch, chicken parmesan continues to be a beloved comfort food that brings people together over a hearty, satisfying meal.
