Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh cherries, pitted
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or cast iron skillet.
- Arrange the pitted cherries in a single layer in the prepared dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 eggs, 1 1/4 cups of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the cherries in the dish.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Slice and enjoy the cherry clafoutis warm or at room temperature.
