  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese

  • 1 onion, chopped

Instructions

  • Season the pork shoulder with paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic.
  • Pour the BBQ sauce and chicken broth over the pork shoulder.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  • Preheat the broiler in your oven.
  • Split the hamburger buns and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Pile the shredded pork onto the bottom half of each bun and top with a slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Place the open-faced sandwiches under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and cover with the top half of the bun.
  • Serve the cheesy BBQ pulled pork sandwiches hot and enjoy!
