Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, toss the sliced yams with 1/4 cup of melted butter until evenly coated.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  • Sprinkle the sugar and spice mixture over the yams and toss to coat evenly.
  • Transfer the yams to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and drizzle with the remaining 1/4 cup of melted butter.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes, or until the yams are tender.
  • Remove the foil and sprinkle the yams with 2 cups of mini marshmallows.
  • Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and bubbly.
  • Allow the candied yams to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
