This delectable side dish is a staple at holiday gatherings and soul food restaurants across the United States. The combination of sweet potatoes, cinnamon, and nutmeg creates a warm and comforting flavor that has stood the test of time. Renowned chefs like Edna Lewis and Leah Chase have popularized their own versions of candied yams, adding their unique flair to the classic recipe.
