Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups of cooked and shredded chicken
- 1 cup of romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup of caesar dressing
- 1/4 cup of croutons
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of cooked and shredded chicken, 1 cup of chopped romaine lettuce, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, and 1/2 cup of caesar dressing. Mix well to coat the chicken and lettuce with the dressing. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Lay out the 4 large flour tortillas on a clean surface. Divide the chicken and lettuce mixture evenly among the tortillas, placing it in the center of each tortilla. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of croutons over the chicken and lettuce mixture on each tortilla.
- Fold the bottom edge of each tortilla up over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll up tightly to enclose the filling.
- If desired, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the wraps, seam side down, in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for a few minutes before slicing each wrap in half diagonally. Serve and enjoy!
The Caesar wrap, a popular dish in American cuisine, has a rich history dating back to the 1920s. It is believed to have been created by Italian-American chef Caesar Cardini in Tijuana, Mexico. The original Caesar salad was transformed into a wrap by combining the classic ingredients such as romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, croutons, and Caesar dressing with grilled chicken or other protein, all wrapped in a soft tortilla. Today, the Caesar wrap can be found in many restaurants across the United States, with variations that include adding bacon, avocado, or different dressings. One of the best places to enjoy a delicious Caesar wrap is at casual dining establishments or delis known for their fresh ingredients and flavorful dressings. The key to a perfect Caesar wrap lies in the quality of the ingredients, especially the dressing, which should strike the right balance between creamy, tangy, and savory flavors. For a unique twist, some chefs also offer a deconstructed version of the Caesar wrap, serving the components separately for diners to assemble themselves.
