  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  • Add the bread crumbs, red onion, chipotle pepper, cumin, garlic powder, and salt to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the burger patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
  • While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in a toaster or on a separate skillet until lightly browned.
  • To assemble the burgers, place a black bean chipotle patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sliced avocado and a spoonful of salsa. Place the top half of the bun on top and serve immediately.
