  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef stew meat and brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in the beef broth, diced tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, paprika, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • In a small bowl, mix the flour and water to make a slurry. Stir the slurry into the stew to thicken the broth.
  • Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, then taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve the spicy beef stew hot and enjoy!
