Beef kebab, a popular Middle Eastern dish, has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The dish originated in the Middle East, where it was traditionally prepared by marinating chunks of beef in a blend of spices and then skewering them with vegetables before grilling over an open flame. Renowned chefs like Yotam Ottolenghi have put their own spin on this classic dish, incorporating unique flavor profiles and cooking techniques. Today, the best beef kebabs can be found in regions like Turkey, Iran, and Lebanon, where local spices and cooking methods add an authentic touch. The key to a perfect beef kebab lies in the marination process, where the meat absorbs the flavors of spices like cumin, paprika, and garlic. For a unique twist, some chefs also use yogurt or lemon juice to tenderize the beef before grilling. Whether enjoyed at a bustling street food stall or a high-end restaurant, beef kebabs continue to be a beloved dish, cherished for their succulent, smoky flavors and aromatic spices.
