Bacon-wrapped hot dogs, also known as "danger dogs," have a rich history rooted in street food culture. This iconic dish gained popularity in the late 1990s in Los Angeles, particularly in the vibrant street food scene of East LA. The combination of juicy hot dogs wrapped in crispy bacon quickly became a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Renowned chefs and street vendors put their own spin on the dish, adding unique toppings like grilled onions, jalapenos, and a variety of sauces. Today, the best versions of this dish can still be found in food trucks and stands across Southern California, where the smoky flavor of the bacon perfectly complements the savory hot dog. To make the perfect bacon-wrapped hot dog, it's essential to use high-quality bacon and a well-seasoned hot dog, and to grill it to perfection. This dish is a must-try for anyone looking to experience the vibrant flavors of LA's street food scene.
