Latin American

Arepas, a beloved staple of Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine, have a rich history dating back to pre-Columbian times. These delicious cornmeal patties are a versatile dish, often enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Topping them with creamy avocado and zesty salsa adds a modern twist to this traditional favorite, creating a delightful fusion of flavors. Renowned chefs in both countries have elevated the art of making arepas, with some restaurants specializing in unique toppings and fillings. For the best version of this dish, head to the bustling streets of Colombia or Venezuela, where street vendors skillfully craft these mouthwatering treats. The key to perfecting this dish lies in the quality of the cornmeal and the freshness of the avocado and salsa. Alternatively, some chefs have experimented with alternative methods, such as grilling the arepas for a smoky flavor. Whether enjoyed as a snack or a full meal, arepas topped with avocado and salsa are a true delight for food enthusiasts.
