Instructions

  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to make a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in 2 cups of whole milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
