Air-fried potstickers have a rich history rooted in traditional Chinese cuisine. Originating in the northern regions of China, these delectable dumplings were traditionally pan-fried, but the introduction of air-frying has revolutionized their preparation. Renowned chefs like Ming Tsai and Martin Yan have popularized this method, creating a healthier alternative to the classic dish. The key to perfect air-fried potstickers lies in the delicate balance of a crispy exterior and juicy, flavorful filling. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Chinese restaurants that have mastered the art of crafting these savory parcels. The most important elements to get right are the filling, which typically consists of a blend of ground meat, vegetables, and seasonings, and the thin, tender dough that encases it. For a unique twist, consider incorporating alternative ingredients such as shrimp or tofu for a personalized touch.
