  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream

  • Once cooled, stir in 1 cup of brandy, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg.

  • Transfer the Advocaat to a clean, airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy on its own or use in cocktails.

Dutch

Advocaat, a rich and creamy Dutch liqueur, has a history dating back to the 17th century. Its name is derived from the Dutch word for "lawyer," as it was originally favored by the upper class and legal professionals. This velvety concoction is made from eggs, sugar, and brandy, resulting in a decadent, custard-like flavor. Traditionally enjoyed during the holidays, Advocaat is often served in small glasses or used as a topping for desserts. In the Netherlands, it is a staple during festive occasions. Today, the best Advocaat can be found in traditional Dutch distilleries and enjoyed in cozy cafes throughout the country.
