African

Zebra steaks have a rich history in African cuisine, particularly in regions where zebras are abundant. The meat is lean and flavorful, with a slightly sweet and gamey taste. Chefs in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe have long been known for their expertise in preparing zebra steaks, often marinating the meat in a blend of herbs and spices to enhance its natural flavors. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in upscale restaurants in these regions, where chefs carefully source and prepare the meat to ensure a tender and succulent result. When cooking zebra steaks, it's crucial to pay attention to the marination process and cooking time to achieve the perfect balance of flavors and tenderness. While zebra steaks are a unique delicacy, ethical and sustainability considerations should always be taken into account when consuming exotic meats.
