Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat 1/4 cup of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the coated venison cube steaks to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and mushrooms. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the seasoned flour mixture over the vegetables and stir to combine.
  • Gradually pour in 2 cups of beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
  • Bring the gravy to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens.
  • Return the venison cube steaks to the skillet, spooning the mushroom gravy over the top.
  • Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
