  • Spread 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
  • Sprinkle 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese over the marinara sauce on each dough circle.
  • Evenly distribute the bell peppers, mushrooms, black olives, red onion, and fresh basil over the cheese on each dough circle.
  • Drizzle 1/4 teaspoon of olive oil over the vegetable filling on each dough circle, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, then crimp the edges to seal the calzones.
  • Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush the tops with the beaten egg wash, and cut a few small slits in the top of each calzone to allow steam to escape during baking.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving, and enjoy!
