  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup ketchup

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine 2 pounds of ground turkey, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well.
  • In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 small finely chopped onion and 3 cloves of minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft, about 5 minutes.

  • Brush the top of the meatloaf with 1/4 cup of ketchup.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Turkey meatloaf stuffed with spinach and feta is a modern twist on the classic comfort food. This dish has its roots in traditional American meatloaf, but the addition of spinach and feta brings a Mediterranean flair to the table. The combination of lean ground turkey, flavorful spinach, and tangy feta cheese creates a mouthwatering fusion of flavors. Chefs across the United States have put their own spin on this dish, incorporating local ingredients and culinary influences. Some restaurants in the Midwest have gained acclaim for their take on this dish, infusing it with regional herbs and spices. The key to a successful turkey meatloaf stuffed with spinach and feta lies in the balance of flavors and textures. The turkey should be moist and well-seasoned, while the spinach and feta filling should be vibrant and savory. Achieving the perfect blend of ingredients is essential to creating a memorable dish. For those looking to try a famous alternative method, some chefs recommend adding a touch of lemon zest to the spinach and feta filling for a burst of citrusy brightness. This unexpected twist elevates the dish to new heights and adds a refreshing element to each bite. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in restaurants that prioritize fresh, high-quality ingredients.
