Instructions

  • In a small bowl, dissolve 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in 1/2 cup of warm milk. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture, 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter, 3 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well to form a dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
