Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and basil.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
  • Divide the cheese mixture evenly among the dough circles, placing it on top of the marinara sauce.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and press the edges firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
  • Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg and make a small slit in the top of each calzone to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and brush the tops with olive oil. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
