Three Cheese Calzone
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 cup marinara sauce
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and basil.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
- Divide the cheese mixture evenly among the dough circles, placing it on top of the marinara sauce.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and press the edges firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
- Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg and make a small slit in the top of each calzone to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and brush the tops with olive oil. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
