Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix together 1 pound of ground beef, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and form them into thin patties.
  • Place 4 slices of bacon on the grill and cook until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and set aside.
  • Place the beef patties on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until lightly golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of ketchup, and 1 tablespoon of mustard to make the burger sauce.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread the burger sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a beef patty with melted cheese on top of the sauce, followed by 2 slices of bacon, avocado slices, shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
