  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  • Form the mixture into 4 patties and make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while grilling.

  • During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and toast the hamburger buns on the grill.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup ketchup, and 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard to make the sauce.
  • Assemble the burgers by spreading the sauce on the bottom half of each bun, then adding a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, a grilled patty with cheese, and some thinly sliced red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
  • Serve the gourmet burgers immediately and enjoy!
