Texas Brisket Sandwich with Extra BBQ Sauce

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 1/2 cup extra BBQ sauce for serving

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
  • Rub the dry rub all over the beef brisket, covering it evenly. Let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  • Preheat the grill to 250°F (120°C) using hickory or oak wood for smoke flavor. Place the brisket on the grill and cook for 6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
  • Once the brisket is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 20 minutes. Then, slice it thinly against the grain.
  • Toast the sandwich buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous amount of sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Drizzle extra BBQ sauce on top of the brisket, then cover with the top half of the bun.
  • Serve the Texas brisket sandwiches with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping, and enjoy!
