Texas Brisket Sandwich with Extra BBQ Sauce
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 3 lbs beef brisket
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 4 sandwich buns
- 1/2 cup extra BBQ sauce for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
- Rub the dry rub all over the beef brisket, covering it evenly. Let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Preheat the grill to 250°F (120°C) using hickory or oak wood for smoke flavor. Place the brisket on the grill and cook for 6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- Once the brisket is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 20 minutes. Then, slice it thinly against the grain.
- Toast the sandwich buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous amount of sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Drizzle extra BBQ sauce on top of the brisket, then cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the Texas brisket sandwiches with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping, and enjoy!
