  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook 1 lb of ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Add 1 diced onion and 1 minced garlic clove to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is softened.
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.
  • Add 1/2 cup of tomato sauce to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef mixture is thickened.
  • While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until they are soft and pliable.
  • To assemble the tacos, spoon the beef mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro.
