Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook 1 lb of ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add 1 diced onion and 1 minced garlic clove to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is softened.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.
- Add 1/2 cup of tomato sauce to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef mixture is thickened.
- While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until they are soft and pliable.
- To assemble the tacos, spoon the beef mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro.
- Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
- Enjoy your delicious beef tacos!
