Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup tequila
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup diced cucumber
- 1/4 cup diced avocado
- 1 lime, juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the tequila, ketchup, hot sauce, horseradish, and half of the chopped cilantro. Mix well to make the cocktail sauce.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and transfer to a bowl of ice water to cool. Once cooled, drain the shrimp and pat dry.
- In a separate bowl, combine the diced red onion, cucumber, avocado, and the remaining cilantro. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and season with salt and pepper.
- Add the cooked shrimp to the cocktail sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Divide the shrimp cocktail into individual serving glasses or bowls. Serve with tortilla chips on the side.
