Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/4 cup diced avocado
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the tequila, ketchup, hot sauce, horseradish, and half of the chopped cilantro. Mix well to make the cocktail sauce.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and transfer to a bowl of ice water to cool. Once cooled, drain the shrimp and pat dry.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the diced red onion, cucumber, avocado, and the remaining cilantro. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the cooked shrimp to the cocktail sauce and toss to coat evenly.
