Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork belly, skin on, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the pork belly pieces with 2 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of cayenne pepper, 1 tsp of paprika, and 1/2 tsp of garlic powder until well coated.
- Heat 1/2 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned pork belly pieces in batches and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Transfer the cooked pork cracklings to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Once all the pork cracklings are cooked, transfer them to a baking sheet and place in the preheated oven. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the cracklings are dry and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the spicy pork cracklings as a delicious snack or appetizer.
