Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
- Add the cooked quinoa, bread crumbs, red onion, minced chipotle peppers, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
- Cook the quinoa burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are heated through and have a nice crust.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers with your choice of toppings and enjoy!
