Ingredients
- 3 cups spelt flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of spelt flour, 1 packet of active dry yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 1 cup of warm water until the honey is dissolved.
- Add the honey water mixture to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf on a greased baking sheet or in a greased loaf pan.
- Brush the top of the loaf with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
