Ingredients
- 1 (5-6 pound) pork shoulder roast
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of paprika
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 1 cup of chicken broth
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of paprika, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon of onion powder.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder roast.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the pork shoulder to a slow cooker and pour in 1 cup of chicken broth.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is very tender and falls apart easily with a fork.
- Once done, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before shredding with two forks.
- Serve the shredded pork shoulder with your favorite sides and enjoy!
