- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame seeds.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the teriyaki marinade over the top. Make sure the fillets are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, to allow the flavors to infuse.

The history of Sesame Ginger Salmon marinated in teriyaki sauce is a fusion of Asian and Pacific Northwest flavors. This dish combines the rich, umami flavors of teriyaki sauce with the bright, zesty notes of ginger and sesame. Renowned chefs in the Pacific Northwest, such as those in Seattle and Portland, have popularized this dish, drawing inspiration from the region's abundant salmon and the influence of Asian cuisine. The key to this dish lies in the quality of the salmon and the balance of flavors in the teriyaki marinade. For the best version of this dish, seek out fresh, wild-caught salmon and a high-quality teriyaki sauce. Alternatively, consider grilling the salmon for a smoky twist on this classic recipe.
