Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 sea bass fillets
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup orange juice, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to make the citrus glaze.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the sea bass fillets with salt and pepper, then place them in the skillet, skin side down.
- Cook the sea bass for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.
- Pour the citrus glaze over the sea bass fillets in the skillet, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken and coat the fish.
- Remove the sea bass from the skillet and transfer to a serving platter.
- Drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet over the sea bass fillets.
- Serve the citrus glazed sea bass immediately, and enjoy!
Sea bass with a citrus glaze is a delectable dish that combines the delicate flavor of sea bass with the zesty tang of citrus. This dish has a rich history, with roots in Mediterranean and Asian cuisines. Renowned chefs like Nobu Matsuhisa have popularized this dish, infusing it with their own unique twists. The best versions of this dish can be found in upscale seafood restaurants in coastal regions, where fresh sea bass is readily available. The key to perfecting this dish lies in the balance of flavors - the sweetness of the glaze should complement the natural umami of the sea bass. Whether grilled, baked, or pan-seared, the citrus glaze adds a refreshing and vibrant dimension to this classic seafood dish.
