  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are tender, then add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spread half of the sausage mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat with the remaining sausage mixture and another cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together 6 large eggs and 1/2 cup of milk. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and cheese in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
