Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook 1 lb of sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of chicken broth to a boil. Stir in 1 cup of white rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of heavy cream, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a 9x13 inch baking dish, combine the cooked sausage and rice. Pour the cream mixture over the top and stir to combine.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy!
