Sausage and Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients
- 12 large mushrooms, stems removed and reserved
- 1/2 pound of ground sausage
- 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup of bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a baking dish.
- Chop the mushroom stems finely.
- In a skillet, cook the sausage and chopped mushroom stems over medium heat until the sausage is browned and the mushrooms are tender. Drain any excess grease.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage and mushroom mixture with the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spoon the sausage and cream cheese mixture into the mushroom caps, mounding it slightly.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
