The history of rotisserie turkey dates back to ancient times when open-fire cooking was the norm. The method of roasting meat on a rotating spit has been a culinary tradition in many cultures, including the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern regions. In modern times, rotisserie turkey has become a popular dish during Thanksgiving and other festive occasions. The slow rotation of the turkey on the spit ensures even cooking and a deliciously crispy skin. Chefs and restaurants across the United States have perfected the art of rotisserie turkey, with some claiming to have the best version of the dish. The key to a perfect rotisserie turkey lies in the seasoning and the slow, steady rotation over an open flame. For those looking for an alternative method, consider using a rotisserie attachment on a grill for a unique twist on this classic dish.
