  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pretzel buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
  • In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in one, beat the eggs in another, and mix the crushed pretzels, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in the third.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the pretzel mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
  • While the chicken is baking, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard in a small bowl.
  • Toast the pretzel buns in the oven for a few minutes until warm and slightly crispy.
  • Assemble the sandwiches by spreading the Dijon-mayo mixture on the bottom half of each pretzel bun, then adding a chicken breast, a slice of cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the pretzel bun.
  • Serve the pretzel chicken sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
