Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
- 1 cup warm milk (110° to 115°)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 3-1/4 to 3-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve 1 package of active dry yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water. Let it stand for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, egg, yeast mixture, and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth.
- Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
- Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Punch the dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 16x10-in. rectangle.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, pecans, softened butter, and cinnamon. Spread over dough to within 1/2 inch of edges.
- Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. Pinch the seam to seal.
- Cut into 12 slices. Place cut side down in a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool in the pan for 1 minute before removing to a wire rack. Enjoy warm.
