Oreo cookies were first introduced by the National Biscuit Company (now Nabisco) in 1912. These iconic sandwich cookies consist of two chocolate wafers with a sweet cream filling. The name "Oreo" is believed to have been derived from the French word "or," meaning gold, a common color of early Oreo packaging. Over the years, Oreo cookies have become a beloved treat worldwide, with various limited-edition flavors and spin-off products. The classic Oreo cookie remains a staple in the snack world, and its popularity has led to numerous recipes and desserts featuring Oreo cookies, such as Oreo cheesecake and Oreo milkshakes. Today, Oreo cookies are a timeless indulgence enjoyed by people of all ages.
